He is fun to watch run the bases. You can't deny that.

I want him as our pinch runner because he is fricking awesome.

Sign Tony Campana

so it got me to thinking, what is tony campana doing now. I figured he was playing Japan...maybe hanging out with other cub favorite matt murton, but alas he was signed to a minor league deal with the white sox. Then this happened.

Trading Castro is all about ROI. He's a young, proven commodity at a position of depth in the organization. If you want anything substantial in a deal, he is the guy to go. Baez has limited value. Castro would net that SP1 or SP2 in a deal. Russell is the SS out the future. Im not sure how being open to making the team better is being a "Cubtard"

I don't think anyone who evaluates a trade and sees market (or above) value for castro would fall into the cubtard arena.

Now if you suggest that he be traded for a bag of balls, or hamburgers, as some of our posters here have suggested, then yes, you're a cubtard.

But with 2b being a black hole right now, and russell playing only 2b these days, i love the idea of castro at ss and russell at 2b in the not too distant future

Well yah, that's the idea. Gotta pay to play if you want to upgrade the pitching. All of the offense in the world isnt going to cure mediocre pitching.

Russell is also really good and ultimately would be wasting his talents at 2B.

Anyways, does anyone know what's up with Dubront? Been out of the loop this weekend. May be looking to him and Edwin Jackson logging a lot of innings in the pen. James Russell should be up soon if he isnt already

I don't see how it's "wasting" as the value to would be to the cubs. He improves the roster, keeps a good SS at SS and adds a great player to 2b. Granted he might be a better SS than castro, but he also might be a better 2b than castro so it's a net gain to leave castro at ss and move russell to 2b. His emergence in no way changes my valuation of castro or feeling that we should keep him.

He was granted his release in March.

Every team needs one guy like him. Tony Campana makes the world a better place.

Rain in Pittsburgh. Maybe a delayed start.

Also some speculation around twitter that Russell might be up as soon as Friday. Field by maddons confirmation that the move to 2B was to give the cubs am option.

Game time fellas. Big offensive night coming tonight. I'm calling it.

I also definitely think it's 100% that Russell will be up before the Cubs play the Reds.

KB draws another good walk. Someone behind him needs to be able to take advantage of that

What a fricking play by Starlin Castro on a ball crushed by Josh Harrison.

im team trade Castro too. Looks like he has but on 10-15 "bad" pounds this offseason too .

though i agree that he isnt as bad when he is the 3rd or 4th piece. I still dont trust him in the field. Too many lapses
