Up until this year, I have been a much bigger CFB fan than NFL fan. Ever since I was a child, Saturdays started with Gameday and watching CFB was a priority. I enjoyed the NFL too, but it was never a “must watch” until deep into the playoffs.

CFB has been decimated by top heaviness, free agency, and the prioritization of money over traditions and love of the game. What made CFB special is gone. Now it’s just a really shitty version of the NFL. With that being the case, I’d much rather just watch the NFL.

RIP CFB.

I feel you a little bit there. I’ll still watch state as appointment tv but even other SEC games I care less about

You aren’t wrong, except that I stopped paying attention to the NFL years ago.

I hear the men swimming for the ladies teams draws a pretty big crowd. Maybe you should watch that.

My biggest gripe is I know Travis Kelcre made a bigger bet on the under for his receptions yesterday.

For now. What does the future hold? Who knows. But making drastic changes to an already successful model in hopes that the future will be better is a big gamble.

There was already a pro model for football. Many college football fans chose the college game because they don't like the NFL. Assuming those fans will just suck it up and accept all the changes in the long run is not a sure bet.

Boxing and NASCAR once thought they could do no wrong as well.

Saturdays are still entertaining, so I don't see any reason why it would fall off. Boxing disappeared because there's no talent anymore. As long as we have kids nationwide still wanting to play football, the sport will be fine

Saturdays are and will still be great. Bowl season, mainly pre-NYE games, is what's suffering. There used to be some great games with really good players for lesser known teams playing their hearts out. Now they're opting out or in the portal prior to the games being played. Many of the good coaches have also left for another team because they need to get started on early signing day and the transfer portal. It's made those early bowl games much less entertaining.

I think tackle football is in decline. You can't stay on top forever.

They have mostly have themselves to blame. Greed corrupts everything.

If the NFL wasn't so greedy for so long and took care of its injured players better, maybe they don't have to overreact and change the rules making the game less fun to watch.

NIL and the transfer portal are an abomination. I hate it.

I'd still prefer college over the NFL because I think the NFL is a boring bad product. SO generic and sterile and the games are not entertaining IMO.

But they're both a shell of what they were.

I know most people think the 12 team playoff will be a blockbuster, but I feel like conference championship games, then home games on Dec 20/21 right as students have left campus and right before Christmas, quarterfinals around NYD, then two more rounds is too much. Throw in NIL and portal sleaziness and 18 team conferences and it just seems like a circus.

I love CFB but the average NFL game is better than an average CFB game. The NFL is just a superior product, from top to bottom. Redzone is truly what I look forward to every week since watching the Saints is a form of torture. CFB on a good weekend has 3-4 good games while the NFL has 12 good games a week.

Completely untrue. Those people are choosing other forms or combat sports, or none at all, due to the lack of popularity of boxing.
