I can maybe buy Alabama-LSU since they include the word "modern" in the title.

It's definitely a top 5 game on college football's calendar every year.

Why would I use nfl rankings for college games? Because LSU had tons of nfl talent 5 years ago that matters today?

Living in Ohio for 5+ years, I hate Ohio State with a passion, and am obviously an LSU fan.

That being said, the past two years there is no case to be made for LSU having more talent than OSU. This coming year, sure, because OSU lost a ton and LSU lost hardly anything. But OSU is approaching Bama level from a pure talent standpoint.

If I had to rank programs for the next three to four years based on expected talent, OSU would be second only to Bama.

All they did to make this list, is go back 10 years or so and then take the rankings of the teams when they played each other. Alabama/Auburn wouldn't get that big because Auburn usually isn't ranked when they play. Over the past 5 years or so, MSU/OSU were both top 5 ranked teams. Thats why its so high up, same as the others..

Winner of the IB played in the national championship for 5 straight years or more yet it's not top 5? That's silly

It's because everybody is off the Gus Bus. Also, that didn't happen last year.

Alabama-LSU has certainly been THE rivalry for the last 10 years, that's for sure.

He (PJ) just used the wrong word. If he had said experience I'd have agreed with him but from a pure talent standard only Alabama can make that claim over Ohio State.

The only thing that might hold Ohio State back this year is that 46 players are true or red shirt freshmen. They're the second least experienced team in college football. This year is an opportunity for other teams but after 2016 look out. I'm still optimistic for this season though. 9/17 at Oklahoma is going to tell a lot.

People outside of those two states actually care about this game?

This is probably the most boring of the "big" rivalries
