With Jeremy Hill's career dwindling, it's pretty clear to objective analysis that Carlos Hyde is the better back when compared to Hill.

With that MSB debate essentially settled, will Hyde turn out to the better back compared to Leonard Fournette?

Here's what the stats say:

Career Stats

Leonard Fournette

Rushes - 444
Yards - 1658
Avg/Carry - 3.7
Touchdowns - 14

Carlos Hyde

Rushes - 867
Yards - 3,492
Avg/Carry - 4.0
Touchdowns - 27

Fournette's lack of shake was evident in college for objective observers. Pure raw athleticism can cover up weaknesses at the high school and sometimes college level if you're enough of a freak athlete. Such is the case with Fournette. Even when not injured(which is often), his production is lacking.

So the Hyde/Hill debate evolves into a Hyde/Fournette one. And based on the stats, Hyde is winning this battle as well.

There are no ulterior motives to this thread whatsoever, just a straight up objective analysis of numbers.

They both averaged 3.3 ypc while on the jags last year. Equal suckage.

Fournette still has time.

At 24 Hyde was a rookie.

3 seasons in Fournette is 24.

Hill with a better ypc and more TDs on less carries. Looks like hill is better.

MSB finding (not so) creative ways to continue to shite on Fournette (and LSU).

I’ll be the LSU fan that says it first - Leonard isn’t a great NFL back. He lacks vision and his first instinct is always power instead of finesse.

I can’t figure out what happened to Jeremy Hill in the NFL. He had a couple of nice years in Cincy, then fell off a cliff and is out of the league.

If doesn’t hurt me as an LSU fan one bit to make these observations.

Plenty of us admit this. He can't get by in the NFL by just being bigger and faster than everyone else. Just watch him vs bama. He was able to get the corner running laterally in the backfield against teams like Auburn or Texas tech, but bama's defense was just as fast and ended that shite every time.

If Fournette can learn a move besides trying to run people over he could be great. He got away with the truck his whole career and is struggling a bit trying to do it against NFL size. He learns to shed a tackle and his numbers would jump

Agree with all of this but repeatedly running into stacked box's hasn't helped either

The year Hyde and Hill came out, there was a huge debate where LSU fans said that Hill was better in every way than Hyde, including being way faster and would have a better career in the NFL.

If I recall, they had like the exact same 40, so OSU fans started giving LSU fans crap about it, then they have kind of had the exact same NFL career as well. They are kind of just mirror images of each other, although Hill got to play with a playoff team a few years and Hyde hasn't been that lucky (I don't think)

Ok, so what does that have to do with Fournette?

Why not compare Hill to Hyde or Fournette to Zeke? I don't get it
