Out of curiosity, I just looked up Matt Forte's career yards from scrimmage and it's 12,873 yards (48th all-time, already ahead of some in the Hall). He seems like a low-key kind of guy that has stayed relatively healthy.

If he can put together two solid seasons with the Jets, it should put him in the top 20 all-time (possibly even top 10). Playing in New York should give him some added media attention.

Any chance he can make it to the Hall with 2-3 solid seasons of adding to his career stats?

I feel like Forte is to great running backs what Coors Light is to beer. Not your first choice, but you'll take em if someone's offering.

Most in the NFL during his time in the league. Playing on shitty teams has hurt him, he's probably got a small shot if he keeps putting up ~1500 yard seasons like he always has

Yeah, that probably won't cut it if only two Pro Bowls. He's not a name that most would consider a Hall worthy but he may end up with impressive career stats if he continues for a couple of years.

He's probably going to surpass that this year

Possibly reaching the top 10 all-time in yards from scrimmage seems atleast worthy of serious consideration

If Floyd Little can get in, Forte has a shot

There's one HOF-caliber RB who's currently still active and that's Adrian Peterson.

i cant imagine there are many RBs in the HOF that have a single season career high that is as low as the 1339 that is Forte's best season. Esp the the ones from 1980-present

Peterson averages 1,705 yards a season rushing/receiving.(i didnt count his injured season)

Forte averages 1,609 yards a season rushing/receiving

A difference of only 96 yards a season.............

That's probably accurate but Forte makes up for that by catching like 60 passes a year for 500 more yards. Including a year when he caught 102 for over 800 yards

Per game basis:

Forte avergaes 106 yards per game started 12,873yds/121 games started

Peterson averages 119 yards per game started 13,643 yards/114 games started

I would imagine Forte is one of the top backs in yards since being in the NFL. The problem is people dont seem to count receiving yards for running backs. Completely illogical
