I say yes with his new found power. He's on pace for 81 doubles and 44 HR. Plus hell end up stealing 40 or 50 bags.

El scorpion has some pop.

Maybe but only because they give two MVPs each year.

There's only one MVP in baseball right now.

Probably not... but an MVP from a team with a losing record certainly isn't unheard of.

22 games into 162 game season and these people are acting like the season is over for Houston. It just began.

Cubs were last in their division, but not in the NL.

Just like Dawson with the Cubs, last in their division but not the league.

Helps that that was the year the Tigers only won 43 games.

I could see El scorpion finish with 215 hits 20-25 dongs. 70 rbi out of leadoff. 45 doubles and 50 sb.

A little research shows that there have been 5 MVPs from losing teams, but none were last place overall.

Ernie Banks twice, Andre Dawson, Ripken Jr. (2nd to last), and A-Rod.

So if Houston ateast gets in the wild card race and he tears it up he may get some love...but most likely will be trout or someone from boston

At this rate they are just going to name Harper and Arrieta the MVPs of both leagues.

I don't think the power is sustainable. What he's done isn't all that unprecedented. Last year he had 5HR through the first 36 games. Then he only hit 10 through the next 118 games.

No doubt he's added power since he's come up but I think he plateaus between 15 and 20. He may make a push for 20 between the Crawford Boxes and opposite field power he's showed early.

Early prediction going forward: .320 40 doubles 17HR 68RBI 41 SB
