Hmmm. He did that poorly in his MVP year? I didn't pay that close attention to those stats. That's kind of shocking.

His passing numbers have never been elite even if you include his MVP year. Going off that year, if include his rushing numbers he had close to 4500 total yards and 45 TD which is pretty solid. It was also good enough to win because his team was 15-1 and it wasn't the strongest MVP race.

Cam can't keep relaying on his legs and athleticism to make plays the older he gets. He has to seriously improve his passing if he wants to continue his NFL success.

Remember when people on this board thought he was elite after ONE great season?

He started off like his usual self, middle of the pack, but went on a fricking rampage during the second half the of the season. They caught lightning in a bottle that year.

He has always been laughably inaccurate. His running game makes up for that at times, but how long can he sustain that type of play?

My point is his passing numbers that season still weren't elite. He was 7th in the NFL in QBR.

He had 9/15 games with under 80 last season and 2 over 100. He had 7/16 games in 2015. So in the last 2 years, he goes below 80 at a higher rate than his first 4 seasons

Boom.

He regressing. Or perhaps a better way of saying this is, he the same shitty overthrowing passer but the rest of the league has gotten better at figuring out how to play him.

The only thing he really brings to the table is his rushing game but the past 20 or so games have shown him that running like this (even at 240 lbs) is going to get him killed.

Cam was elite in 2015. There is literally no debate about it.

His larger body of work is inconsistent, but he has been incredible at times. He has also been inaccurate and ineffective before as well.

I know Eli has a ton of bad games also, so I looked at his game logs from recent seasons. Eli has multiple 80.2, 81.0, 80.7 type games. This leads me to believe the passer rating of 80 is an arbitrary number picked to place Cam above Eli in the number of poor games.

Cam Newton is only good when his OC out schemes the defensive coordinator

He also leads the league in QBs being a pussy in super bowls

No one really gives a shite about Eli Manning these days. It is pretty clear he isn't near elite

Eli has gone under 85 in 16 of the last 32 games, so the same # of times that Cam has gone under 80, but in 1 more game.

He's had 16 the past 2 seasons, 5 more than Jameis.

Its almost like he's got guys like Oher/Remmers at OT and Ted Ginn and Jericho Cotchery at WR or something in those years.
