re: Cam Newton is the MVP

My vote right now is for Brady.
I'd like to see Cam win it but Brady is just too good. As previously mentioned, this is one of the best team efforts I've ever seen. Defense keeps stepping up and keeping us in a position to win. Different players on offense keep stepping up too. Looks like Funchess is finally sliding into the role we intended. Having KB opposite of him next year could get nasty. And Olsen... just wow.

He's had 6 total receptions in his last three games.
I love Tom Brady but if he's the Panthers QB they aren't 9-0.

It's Brady, but Cam is the reason the Panthers are good.
Not only because of his play, but also because he has allowed the organization to focus on building a great D the past few years, knowing Cam could carry the offense without them having to focus draft picks and free agent pickups on skill positions for the offense.

You really gonna ignore his 2 games played in tropical downpours and his WRs highest drop rate in the NFL?
Take those two games out and he should be around 65-70% right?

Carson Palmer is the MVP, check the stats

Nope, 59%. And if the drop rate of his WR were even league average, he's probably be around 62%.
And, considering the Air Coryell offense that Rivera/Shula runs at Carolina, with the majority of the primary patterns being deep outs, seam routes, posts, and flies, he is *always* going to have a lower completion percentage than guys like, for instance, the Falcons starter, Melty "Captain Checkdown" Ice. They don't throw many screens and slants in the version of the Coryell that Rivera/Shula run... you know, the kind of pass that Melty thrives on?

And if Cam is the QB of the Patriots, they aren't 9-0 either. The Patriots offense requires an accurate passer.
Not sure what point you're trying to make here.
Exactly.
The Patriots offense *requires* a guy with pin-point accuracy in the short passing game. Cam is the antithesis of that kind of QB.
The Panthers offense requires a QB with a huge arm for deep outs and deep passes downfield. Cam *is* that guy. But, as I've pointed out before, comparing the "accuracy" of guys in offenses separated so far philosophically is just silly.

I'd love to see Matt Cassel take over this Panther team and go 11-5.
Team went 16-0 the year before
Carolina has an amazing defense which works very nicely with Cam's style and running ability

Palmer's had a solid season. But he's not winning the MVP.

Tom Brady's instant MVP.
Deal with it.
Deal with it.

Brady is running away with the MVP right now.

Brady will need to stumble a bit for Cam to win the MVP. I think Cam will be happy winning the division, NFC and making it to the SB and not winning the MVP.

MVP is as dumb as doing the heisman before the bowls. wait til season is over.

The defense that gave up an 80 yard TD pass today before the offense had to come in and restore order?

I am not watching the game but my goodness I just checked ESPN.
