Sell:
FSU could still get in with one loss because they're the defending national champions, they would have the ACC championship, and they may make an impression with the committee by blowing out hapless ACC teams the rest of the year.
Notre Dame would get love from the committee as a one loss team because an end-of-year win over USC would be fresh in their minds, a viable one-loss team from the Pac-12 might not even be available this year, and there is a lot of media love for ND.
A couple of caveats, though:
- Neither team can get blown out.
- And the loser of the game will need help.

FSU legitimately is not a top 5 team in the nation.
I think Notre Dame could compete with them.

ND 24
FSU 21
Book it.

I think fsu can get in if they lose and win all the rest of their games. But notre dame won't

Are TCU, BAMA, Michigan State, and Arizona Better than FSU? They each have rather noticeable weaknesses. Notre Dame is going to have a chance to prove they are better than FSU.

But neither team beat Syracuse in an impressive manner.

Sell. A one-loss FSU would still be a P5 champion, ND is a name brand school and will always be given a better postseason spot than it earned. Either will get in over a 2-loss team.

Sell.
If Fla St loses and is a 1 loss ACC Champion and reigning national champion they are still in.
If ND loses on the road to the defending national champion and then wins out, they will most definitely be there as well.

FSU couldn't run the ball or protect the qb against Clemson. Both teams are bad. FSU gives up over 40 to NC state, wouldn't surprise me at all if ND wins.

Neither of these teams are very good.
That Syracuse team that FSU let score 20 is legit bad, and an NCST team that had FSU'a defense looking like it was playing with 9 men didn't score a single point the following weekend in Clemson.
I still can't believe we gave that game away in Tallahassee. FSU is a 2 loss team this year.

The Notre Dame nothing is as good as a 4 loss SEC bias is rampant today.
The loser of this game wins out they should be in but won't
My picks are
B1G Winner
SEC Winner
PAC 12 Winner
ACC winner
I think Baylor gets beat by both Oklahoma schools and OU losing to TCU kills them because people will look head to head and TCU may lose again.

No team in the country is really good though. So...

Yeah, it's really hard to say FSU isn't one of the five best teams in the country. This happens a lot when people discuss polls: "Teams X, Y and Z are overrated." "Then who's underrated?" "Well... I don't know, but I do know X, Y and Z are overrated!" FSU almost certainly isn't as good as they were last year. They also look like a team that might not be in the top-five many other years. But up to this point in the season, there's really no reason you can say they're not a top-five team, especially looking at the rest of college football. Beat a good Clemson team without Jameis, gave Oklahoma State its only loss, still undefeated, etc.

Notre Dame won't make playoff either way.

Well, if either of them finish with one-loss, they should definitely finish ahead of any two-loss team in the nation (except, perhaps, an SEC West team).
Also, your point about ND giving a better postseason spot is inaccurate. Just look at where ND was in the polls two years ago in early November. Also, look where ND is now: the lowest-ranked of the five unbeaten Power Five teams.

ND is going to beat the ever living frick out of Free Shoes.
Posted on 10/12/14 at 4:52 pm to lilaznfish123
Buy. Either team is out of the playoff with a loss. I know a lot of people think FSU could still get in because they are the defending champs, but who would they have beaten? One top-25 team (Oklahoma State) in the opening week, and MAYBE another in Clemson if they can hang onto their ranking (they're #22 right now). Nobody else that FSU plays the rest of the way is ranked, and it's not like they're going to face a juggernaut in the ACC title game. With a home loss to Notre Dame, I don't think the Noles' resume would stack up to that of other contenders. That said, I suspect the conversation is moot--I predict FSU beats Notre Dame by at least two scores.
