Heading there next week and first time playing the course. What should I expect for the ones who have played it?

Great course
Overpriced
Great looking back 9 which is close to the bay

6/10

I prefer The Raven which is next to it and cheaper.

2nd vote for the Raven course at Sandestin. This is the course that hosted the Senior PGA tournament when it was played at Sandestin. Its just as good as Burnt Pine. Robert Trent Jones Jr. was the architect (his brother Rees Jones designed Burnt Pine).

If you are looking for a family golf outing, head up the road a bit to Origins golf club. It's a little hard to explain, but it's a 6 hole regulation course, with additionel Tee boxes and Greens that make a 10 hole Par 3 course. Davis Love III designed it. My BIL and I took our sons there a couple of years ago and had a blast. I'm a ten handicap and got to feel like I was playing real golf, but my BIL who rarely plays, and our sons who are beginners got to have a neat experience without being in anyone's way or getting best to death by a championship course. It's was well conditioned and on a great piece of property. Very affordable too. There should be more places like Origins and Audubon park
