If the Bulls had everyone healthy, Rose included, this would have been their year.

Disagree. Miami is better than they were last year. This team has very few weaknesses and are well coached. The best Chicago could have done with a healthy Rose is push to a game 7. Lebron guards Rose when he is healthy and was able to throw him off his game.

The Bulls won't have enough guys on the roster to play as physical and foul the frick out of errbody like they did when they ended the streak.

I think the only way to match the speed and tenacity of the Heat is to beat the hell out of them. Get a few flagrant fouls, have a few big men foul out while punishing the Heat for going to the rim. Bulls don't have enough healthy guys to do it IMO.

And yes, he's playing.

Then I am taking the line, even if he goes 1/12 (which probably wont happen) like he did vs the Buck he still can contribute.

Even then it took the Bulls making shots they rarely make to win. Deng turned into the best mid-range shot maker in the league during the 4th quarter. It's just tough for them to make enough shots against a good defense.

@NickFriedell: Thibs says he spoke to Deng this morning. He is out of the hospital. They still aren't sure exactly what is wrong.
This really sucks for Deng. Hope everything turns out okay for him.

This. They are like a well oiled machine that has gotten better since the Maverick finals. It's scary because they were good then, and I still believe they have the potential to better than they are this year; with a smarter pg than Chalmers or a legit center they are arguably the best team in NBA history. They might peak next year though.

I give a lot of credit to Spo. People gave him so much undeserved shite but he has played his cards well with this team.

It's amazing how much a castoff Chris Anderson has done for this team.

This is how I see tonight going.....the bulls are down by 20 for most of the night until Thibs unleashes his secret weapon, a well rested DRose. He starts the 4th quarter, catches fire and the bulls only lose by 19. He plays the next 3 games and then starts practicing for next season.

But in all seriousness, Heat in 4.

I wonder what last year would have looked like for the Heat during the Indy/Celtic series if Birdman hadn't had the legal issues and the Heat sign him instead of Turiaf.

Do Heat still win title without all that adversity? (Probably) Do the Celtics still make another run this season if that series doesn't go 7? Would Indy have been swept had they not won G2? Lots of pointless what ifs.

The bulls are a tough out for the Heat. I think this game will be relatively close.

Oh, and I'm going to the game tonight.

Stern is giving Bron the MVP trophy before the game.

I'll take Miami minus the points.

I think tonight is going to be ugly. When focused and motivated, the Heat can easily beat the Bulls by double digits. Tonight I expect they will be chomping at the bit and impatient to whip some arse. Well rested and healthy, at home, and focused after having to wait a week = arse kicking IMO.

I could easily see the opposite happening... coming out sluggish after a relatively long layoff, while the bulls are still in servival mode after Saturday's Game 7.

granted, I know next to nothing about nba betting lines.

Usually does not happen that way even though people always suggest a team will be "rusty". Generally, the better team at home with the extra rest comes out and destroys the visiting team coming off a game 7.

I could look for a sports betting article written about it if I wasn't at work with the work filters, but I have read analysis of it in the past.

I think Haberstroh wrote an article saying that teams with this long a rest were 9-4 at home. No idea what they are against the spread though.

I think rest/rust is just an easy reason/excuse players/people use to explain a win/loss. Usually the better team just wins. I mean the better team usually has home court so they usually win Game 1. It just makes sense.
