Per sauces.

quote:

LeBron James pushing Cavaliers to acquire Carmelo Anthony even if trade includes Kevin Love: source

Phil Jackson and Carmelo Anthony apparently do have something in common: LeBron James as an ally.

According to a league source, LeBron is the one pushing the Cleveland Cavaliers front office to acquire Carmelo even if it means trading Kevin Love, which is something Cavs management is opposed to doing. Jackson is hoping to move Anthony prior to the Feb. 23 trading deadline and one player the Knicks have targeted is Love, who had 23 points with 16 rebounds in Cleveland's win over the Knicks last Saturday.

Any deal for Anthony would require the Knicks’ leading scorer to waive his no-trade clause and the consensus is that Anthony would agree to play for the defending champs and his long-time friend LeBron.

I just don't understand this move. Your losing your rebounding, spacing, ball movement and Post D once you trade away Love for Melo. Why does LeBron want this so bad?

NYK winning this trade imo. Pair up KP and Love would be lethal

I remember when people were incredulous that the Cavs would want Carmelo for Love.

I was like: True, but what LeBron wants gets explored at the very least.

But please remember that LeBron isn't to blame for any problems the Cavs might have. It's not his team. He's not the coach or GM.

Just because LeBron's desires suddenly happen., doesn't mean he should get the criticism for the drawbacks.

Love is the best player they can get for Melo. Cavs would be stupid to make that trade. Melo isn't the same player he was a few years ago.

Lebron really is a terrible owner. First trading Wiggins for Love now this. And why the hell does this site keep autocorrecting Lebron to Hebron?

He has been odd this season. First bitching about the team not spending enough money, then this just weird trade.

I just don't think many of the top teams place too much emphasis on rebounding these days.

spacing
They don't lose that with Melo.

ball movement
I imagine if Melo is going to waive his no trade clause he's going to understand his role is changing to more of the role he played on the Olympic squads.

and Post D once you trade away Love for Melo
Not saying Melo is anything special but is Love really a good low post defender?

I think it's risky as hell, and I'm not certain I'd do it, but I can also see this working out well.

It's almost like last year didn't happen!!!

The Love for Wiggins was a bad deal for CLE crowd lost that battle on the night of game 7 of last year's Finals. CLE won that trade that night.
