Both players were hyped up to be the next Trout/Harper/Jeter of their organizations.

You keep saying this but it's not true. Correa maybe not bregman. Bregman can't even play his natural position because he's not the chosen player for the organization

If Bonds was a real winner, then he would have been able to throw out frickin Sid Bream from short left field. What a weak arse throw.

I'm a huge LSU and Bregman fan, but I thought Swanson had a higher ceiling and was pretty "can't miss".

I thought Bregman would be a 10+ year veteran at 2nd base (height) and be top 15ish at the position his whole career, but never be a superstar.

Shows what the frick I know.

You are basically right about Bregman. He might be a tad better than that, but pretty close. He's not that great defensively on the left side of the IF. Average to below average as a 3B. He did do well as a SS when Correa missed a few games though.

Yeah, I guess so. I still think he should be a 2nd baseman. This is based on my average baseball intelligence, but his height/reach seems small for 3B/SS.

A true bust for a 1st round pick is not even making it to the majors. Both have already made it and advanced very quickly. Joke's on you bud

False. Bregman doesn't play his natural position because the current player in his natural position is currently playing gold glove caliber defense thus far this season, while also swinging a very hot bat since his return from injury. If Correa wasn't on the team, Bregman would easily be the starting SS, and would more than likely be extremely solid. In fact, Bregman would be the starting SS on many of the teams in MLB.

Ideally he is probably a second basemen, but Altuve is elite and can't really play anywhere else. Bregman isn't a liability or anything at 3B and most importantly you fit all three of those bats (Correa Altuve Bregman) in your lineup on an everyday basis with him at 3B.

I think Bregman will be a solid everyday player but not quite on the level of Correa and Altuve as far as his impact. And that is far from a bust

I doubt Swanson and Bregman will be better than average players. Braves rushed Swanson to sell tickets for SunTrust. Braves should've sent Swanson down two weeks ago but the front office cares more about selling tickets than developing players. Swanson isn't this bad but it's hard to think he will be better than a below average hitter with his K rate being over 25 percent.

How many times have they talked about his exit velocity? I know baseball has always been tied to statistics, but it is out of control at the moment. The baseline stats still govern, batting average, ERA, etc.

or maybe not

players like trout, harper, lindor, seager, etc have really given other top prospects an unrealistic timeline to be good. its so early in both careers, who knows how it will turn out

Bregman is already an average player and he just turned 23. I doubt he is ever a superstar, but I'd bet on an above average regular, who might make some all-star teams.

what is your definition of average player?

Bergman is only 23 and it is not like he has been playing bad.
