If by all other things equal, you mean they all have a team that plays to their strengths, I'd go Brees all day.

Brees has more passing yards, higher completion percentage (doesn't have the talent at wide receiver of Palmer)

Palmer does have slightly more TDs, but it's the Saints bye week as well. Palmer does have 7 INTs to Brees 9.

But Brees missed a game with injury and was playing injured early on. Since his return from injury he has outplayed probably any other qb.

It's really close, so I understand taking Palmer this year.. but Brees is still the better QB.

If not for his injury this year, his number would be even more spectacular.. So keep that in mind.

For one game, I don't see how this is truly a close debate. Brees has been money in big time games as well. He threw no turnovers in the Saints superbowl run.

Palmer has 7 more TDs. The season stats haven't been updated to reflect this game.

Palmer leads the league in TDs.

at people who said Brees. Carson's a top 3 QB in the league right now. Brees is just inside the top 10.

But he won a Super Bowl 6 years ago so it's him. Just like it'd be flacco if he was in this hypothetical, right?

I am very impressed with Carson this season. Very. He's been on the money.

It's really close and you can't go wrong with either. I just prefer the guy who has proven it in some really big time games over the years. Brees has gone up against Rodgers, Brady, Eli, Peyton (SB), Roethlisberger, and just put on an absolute show in these big time games.

If it's a big game, I just have to lean Brees.. but Carson is a beast this season no doubt. I enjoy watching the Cardinals this year. They put on a show in their own right.

Lol Brees. One game im picking a SB winner, top 10 of all time.
Carson having great last 2-3 years. But still at his best. He is equal to Brees.

Who said that? eta: never mind I saw that now

I think it's pretty much a tossup. The two are close in age. Clearly the narrative about Brees being washed up was debunked since he's Top 3 in most categories (along with Palmer) in spite of his injury, his OL being garbage, and his WRs outside of Cooks being trash. Just like the current flavor of the week narrative about Luck, most people have dumb opinions about NFL QBs.

But stats don't tell the whole story. If I'm trying to be objective, I'm taking Rodgers over both, and he's having a "worse" year than either of them. But what Brees is doing this year is pretty damn remarkable. He's made Ben Watson look like a Pro Bowler at times, and he has less help than Palmer does on offense right now.

If Brees had more power in his arm, I'd go with him. Carson can still throw 45 yard passes late in the 4th quarter. Brees also has developed a gunslinger mentality and with his noodle arm, those are not something I want in my quarterback if Carson is on the table.
