Ohio State returns three quarterbacks this year who would be starters at almost every other Division I program, so there's been speculation throughout the offseason that one or more of the Buckeyes quarterbacks might transfer. Miller hasn't spoken definitively on the subject, but the more time that passed, the more likely it seemed that he would return to Columbus. Now, the The Columbus Dispatch is reporting that Miller "expects to announce his immediate plans next week," raising some new questions about an issue that most thought was settled.

In any case, it looks like we'll know what these cryptic "immediate plans" are shortly after the Fourth of July weekend.

I'm curious why Miller is creating news at this point.

If he has to announce something, I doubt this means he is staying at Ohio St.

I thought I read somewhere that based on schools' academic calendars, it's too late for him to transfer.

He's probably just announcing he's moving to a slot WR position.

Not for quarter system schools.

That's how Tech got Driskell when they did.

That's not at all what I implied

I'm just saying schools with a quarter system have different rules.

Why? Because he's an all American about to be stuck as a backup to a guy (Jones) who may have an IQ of 10 and also helped his team steamroll to a National Championship. Can't blame him for wanting to transfer.

You forgot to add that part. Dumb or not, you can't deny that OSU was unstoppable in the 3 games Jones started at QB against the 3 toughest opponents on their schedule

The more I think about it, I think it was that he passed the deadline to transfer to Alabama.

Seems like an odd time to announce a transfer. He could have transferred a long time ago and started learning the new offense.

I've heard rumblings that his shoulder is shot and his QB days are done.

He's not transferring.

On a scary not, the last person he followed on twitter lives in Tuscaloosa.

Call me a cynic, but school and academics don't apply to the NFL minor leagues.

Yes for sure.

But even so, there wouldn't be a deadline until August or September. He could apply, be accepted, and enroll all in the same day. I think that has to be the first day of classes or something like that to be eligible. Summer classes might have hit the deadline, just means he would have to wait until fall camp to go.
