Can’t seem to find it even on Braves official website. Does that mean they haven’t released it?

It’s typically the morning that game 1 is played IIRC, so I’d expect to see it in the next few hours

It’s been set. Not sure I agree with it though. I would have left Elder at the house and I’m assuming the only reason Hand made it is for the Phillies lefties. No Jessie but they are putting Daysbel on the team??

I do like that smith shawver is on the roster. Elder will have the shortest leash imaginable in game three. If he has a bad outing he won’t make the NLDS if the Braves advance.

Cant leave Elder at home. Hand was expected imo as we need another lefty.

Now where I agree 1000% is leaving Jesse off for Daysbel. If its not injury related than I need some answers Snit.

Daysbel

He's a strikeout pitcher who can sit down the Phillies bottom of the order, and as we all know Philly does strike out a lot.

His stuff plays in the postseason .

I don’t know if it came down to Jesse or Daysbel, but he and AJSS both made it because, in the payoffs, velocity plays. Stuff plays. In a high leverage situation, give me the young guy who can throw 96+. You can get away with a 97 mph mistake. A 91 mph mistake gets turned around 420+.

And I think with the short series and all the rest days, knowing that Strider and Fried would likely throw 4 of the 5 games, Snit thinks he can probably get by just using the top 4 or 5 bullpen arms. Not many back-to-backs, so they can throw all 5 games if necessary. Shouldn’t have to dip too much further into the pen unless it’s Game 3. I think Elder starts, but is on a super short leash. Like maybe a 1-time through the order leash. And maybe AJSS, Yates, Tonkin, Daysbel throw an inning a piece to bridge you to Johnson/Joe/Minter/Iglesias.

I think the roster will change for the NLCS (hopefully). May just add a 13th arm and take away a position player. I love Grissom, but when is he actually going to play? Hard to find a scenario. Maybe today if Pillar starts in LF against a LH, we run him and they bring in a RH, sub Eddie for Pillar, then pitch hit Grissom late against one of their LH relievers, and let Wall finish the game in LF?

I’m not sure you wouldn’t rather just let Eddie face a lefty in that situation. Or TDA if you’re gonna hot for him. Grissom’s gonna be the 3rd RH bat off the bench any game Eddie starts in LF (after Pillar and TDA/Murphy). Just not sure how we’ll need a 3rd bat off the bench with this lineup. Maybe he pinch runs late if we’ve already used Wall

That's true which makes me wonder why Elder is on the roster over Wright. Kyle has much better stuff. Must be lingering injury concerns

Wright’s velocity has been down since he’s been back. I don’t think he’s ready quite yet. And you can’t have low velo AND walk people. Maybe they think Elder has a better chance to get them through the order once without walking guys. And maybe his sinker only doesn’t sink once and he only gives up a solo homer or maybe even 2. If he can hand the ball off in the 4th only giving up 1 or 2, I think that’s a win.

But I’d be fine if Elder doesn’t pitch at all this series. Been fine with him not making the roster. Maybe we start AJSS Game 3 and Elder’s only role is to potentially come in and eat innings and save arms if it gets away from AJSS. Who knows.

As far as Yates or Tonkin or whoever over Jesse, assuming Jesse is healthy, maybe it’s simply matchups. Maybe those guys have had more success against this Phillies lineup. Regardless, like I mentioned earlier, the short series with so many off days makes this a weird series, and I think the roster moving forward (hopefully) will change.

I feel like Tonkin is on the roster just to eat up innings if a game goes south early.

Is Bryce Elder pitching game 3?

I'm rooting for him as he reminds me of Maddux
