Might be my favorite NBA player of all-time. He brought me back to the game. Awesome guy, absolutely a heartbreaker.

It might have cost him his career but at least he didn't have to be called a pussy in multiple threads by the MSB doctors like D. Rose.

Dude has been cleared to play for like 4 months.

He really fricked up coming back from knee surgery for a few playoff games.

i don't think this had anything to do with anything. his knees are shot. no cartilage left i don't think

I mean we're both anecdotal on this, but it seemed like he came back way to early from knee surgery. I agree that he was fricked in the long term but he didn't help himself short term.

quote:

Roy is just three weeks removed from undergoing arthroscopic surgery on both of his knees, but according to Jason Quick of The Oregonian, he’s set to return to practice this week and could suit up for the Blazers as early as Friday. For some players, that would be a miraculous turnaround. With Roy, it’s a syndicated viewing of a familiar drama. We’ve seen this scene before, and though it comes with the best of intentions, the final act is predictable.

From NYT, I couldn't remember the exact timeline but that is the Ron Artest timetable

a scope is nothing

his knees have a long-term degenerative condition that left his knees bone on bone

Which means he was screwed long term, he didn't help himself by rushing back short term.

Portland was on their way to being an elite team.

Roy with good knees and drafting Durant would have given them one of the greatest scoring duos of all time. Terrible luck.

Nope none at all. He'll have artificial resurfacing/knee replacements at a VERY young age.
