I don't want to be harsh about the guy, but his emphatic "OH NO" on Eric Reid's int against bama in '11 made me a bit sour to him.

Huge loss for ESPN IMO.

Nessler is the best in the business, period. He shows up the week before the games and really learns his shite. The dude significantly adds to the broadcast, moreso than any other current play by play guy in CFB at the moment.

Verne tends to pick a favorite in a game. It tends to be the front runner. Which more often than not is bama.

It's like when they lost the original crew. It's not that big of deal to them. They'll find others who will be as good and move on.

I think Verne gets a little too much hate but I won't shed a tear when he retires. Nessler is a grand slam hire. Can't wait for him to take over.
