UPDATE:
OLOM 8th Grade has beaten both St. Jude and St. Thomas (Recruit those 16 year old 8th graders)More Schools, this week.
I see that they are 2, firmly in place.

OLOM has a good team and with St. George are the top two teams to beat. They will play soon enough but I feel ST. George has a better top 7 than OLOM.

any idea when that OLOM St George match up takes place?

OLOM and ST. George played tonight and round 1 went to St. George in all divisions of CSAL 6th, 7th and 8th. All of the games were decided by more than 15 points. OLOM gave a good fight but were overmatched. There is a potential 2nd round game brewing on Saturday in the St. George Tournament.

Based upon the games played this week so far, I feel the standings in 8th grade are relatively close to accurate and that the 7th grade standings should be modified. This weekend SGS tournament should clarify things a little as OLOM/STM square off and St. Alphonsus/St. Jude square off Thursday night. SGS plays Holy Family and then the winner of OLOM/STM with Sacred Heart playing the St Alphons/St. Jude winner. I will post new standings next week.
Revised 7th standings as of 1.14.09
7th Grade...
1. St. George
2. Sacred Heart
3 OLOM
4. St. Alphonsus
5. STM
6. St. Jude
7. St. Aloysius

7th Grade...

2. Sacred Heart
3 OLOM
4. St. Alphonsus

7th grade should be George, Jude, Sacred Heart, STM, then the rest can just be thrown in there.

Based upon the first round at SGS Tournament, the 7th Grade standings have been revised to reflect the statement by St. Jude in their victory over St. Alphonsus.

2. St. Jude
3. Sacred Heart
4. OLOM
5. St. Aloysius
6. STM
7. St. Alphonsus

The CSAL BB leagues of Baton Rouge look as strong as ever. After seeing most of the teams on the list play either Friday or Saturday, here are my up to date standings.
8th Grade..
1. St. George
2. St. Jude
3. Parkview Baptist
4. OLOM
5. Sacred Heart
6. STM
7th Grade...
1. St. George
2. Sacred Heart
3. St. Jude
4. OLOM
5. STM
6. St. Aloysius
7. St. Alphonsus
In 8th grade, St. Jude coached by Tommy Hodson made a big statement today with a victory over a suprisingly big Parkview Baptist team led by J McGinnis and #40 (unknown). St. Jude will meet St. George in the much anticipated SGS tournament 8th grade finals on Monday night. St. Jude is lead by point guard David Losavio and a host of solid role players. St. George is led by Bobby Mikitinas, Christian Brusavich Jordan Long and Christopher Peck.
In 7th grade, St. George still looks like the team to beat but Sacred Heart and OLOM have shown themselves very competitive during the last week. SGS has beaten Sacred Heart once and OLOM twice in competive contests during the last 10 days. St. Jude is a hard team to predict as they have plenty of size but moves down a notch after losing to Sacred Heart on Saturday. St. George has alot of talent and has the most depth of the teams in this division. The team looks to be 10 deep and is lead by a strong backcourt of N Whalen, W Cotten and A Arceneux along with a dominant front court of B Pinner, R Issa and A Theriot. This team could be one of the best seen on the CSAL trails. Sacred Heart is lead by the tandem of R Brundage and Hunter (unk). While St. Jude is led by a talented guard forward combination of Shexnayder and Daniels. St. George and Sacred Heart meet for round 2 in the finals of the SGS tournament on Monday night.
