I agree. I have no problem with the bat flip last year. I have no problem with them plunking him this year for it. That slide deserved a beating and that's what happened. It all worked out to me. However, the dirtiest move of the day was odors throw. That could have killed joey.

If you watched after that, Bautista wanted no part of a fight after getting tagged. Beltre was holding him back with not struggle whatsoever.

I'm not a fan of the bat flip. I don't think it brought one extra fan back to the game, fun or not. And I got no problem with him getting plunked for it.

Now get off my lawn.

Chavez throwing at Fielder was probably the biggest bitch move of the whole game.

Jose is just glad the bench cleared bc he didn't want shite to do with any of that after that hit.

Shouldn't be garbage sliding

Didn't see that, But last game between the two teams this year, last at bat probably for Bautista, by all accounts this was as much for the bat flip as anything....and I'm good with that.

Was that Derek Holland tied up with someone in the middle of the pile for a good while? Looked like he came out a little bloody

I've watched that gif 10 times and I can't help but laugh each time. Odor throws a vicious right hand that connects soundly and follows it up with the most flamboyant left-handed glove swat I've ever seen. It is hysterical.

Man there sure are a lot of butt hurt last place astro fans in here.

I must be the only one who thinks that both players have a right to be upset. Bautista got hit in his last at bat and Odor could very well have been injured. Let them fight it out an clear it up.

The bat flip was essentially like Odell and Norman going after each other. Or like that time TO spiked the ball At the 50 Yd line. Football players didn't stay quiet about that.

Astro fans clutching their pearls and being outraged by the Odor punch is a feature, not a bug. Their tears are delicious, and salty.

These teams hate each other, emotions were boiling over from earlier incidents in the game like an earlier take out slide and Bush plunking Joey Bats. Bats went in hard, Odor shoved him, and the Bats took about half an hour to cock his arm to punch. Bad decision, and slow execution. Odor and Bats will both get suspended, Odor for longer, and we'll all move on except for the wonderful gifs which will live forever.

It was awesome. And totally worth the suspension.

The jays are quickly developing a rep for cheap slides. It cost them a game in Tampa already earlier this year. But Odor is the king of dirty slides. He needs at least a month off.

He needs at least double digits for the punch and trying to take off Joey's head with the throw

This could have been discussed but Toronto was down one, why didn't Smoak continue to round the bases as everyone ran to the brawl?

No one went after the ball

Not by Odor. it'd just be nice to see an MLB player not be a pansy and do the unwritten rule thing and confront a guy immediately after something happens.

I guess that's why it was refreshing to see Odor handle it immediately. He didn't wait like a pitcher to plunk the next batter who had nothing to do with anything. He didn't wait like Bautista to try to take out the infielder and not confront the pitcher he's unhappy with. So annoying, deal with the issue immediately.
