It's super cool of these guys to skip going instead of going and discussing differences with the president himself and others. Really showed him!

As if that actually happens. It's just a photo op.

It's their freedom of choice. However, this is going to set a bad precedent which will lead to other athletes who are invited being pressured by people in the urban communities and other anti-Trump people into not attending as well.

Trump should just stop the practice of inviting teams to the white house. That way there is no controversy. Just more people hating Trump for stupid shite. He seems to be able to take it better than most.

did any white athletes decline when obama was president?

Dont'a Hightower is a black athlete that declined to go when Obama was president. He'd already been twice at that point though

Interesting.

At least one member of the legendary 1985 Super Bowl champion Chicago Bears will not be going to the White House as a guest of President Barack Obama. Hall of Famer and former Bears defensive tackle Dan Hampton said he is not a “big fan” of Obama and has no intention of going to Washington D.C. on October 7.

There was a three point specialist for the Bulls who felt he was black balled from the league for giving George Bush Sr. A note detailing what he tought was wrong with issues in the country.

People need to realize that you don't just catch shite from one side or group. Sadly this is how you find out that many people have agendas and don't care that you have choice in matters.

Marty Bennett said he was going to the whitehouse before Trump was even elected

Hightower skipped Obama last time as well.

Funny enough to the OP the only person to come out with a political stance as to why they aren't going to the White House is cracker arse Chris Long.

I highly doubt Hightower wants to know secrets about this Flynn situation and shite like that.

He probably thinks Trump is a racist black hating piece of shite. Well, fricking attempt to pick his brain about it. If Trump says frick off, then at least you tried.

And don't act like Trump hasn't used his time to meet with MANY entertainer types about stuff like this.

Give me a fricking break.

ETA: Or maybe I'm wrong af

This is nothing new. Players have skipped the meeting in the past. This will get more attention because it brings negativity to Trump.

don't give a shite either way. gotta love how the media portrayed white athletes skipping obama as racist and disrespectful of the office of the president. now espn treats bennett et al. as courageous role models.
