anymore. See he's doing play by play for the Arizona/Arizona St. game.

Was it his choice to move on from studio host or was he demoted?

He was the player to be named later in the James Brown trade.

Brando joining Fox was announced in June....he has been calling games on Fox Sports 1 all season....

This is the last weekend of the college regular season, not exactly "breaking news"

Missed the announcement, first Fox college game, I'm usually at the LSU games during the season.

But I have noted he was no longer CBS studio host. Just curious as why he left. Most would consider play-by-play a step down from studio host.

Brando's contract expired with CBS......he then committed to join the SEC Network....before he signed his contract with the SEC N he signed a contract with Fox Sports and left the SEC N before it ever launched

Thanks AT. Both parties may have been ready to move on. Yet they still have Little Richard on the CBS studio show. He's awful.

He was the studio host and had a radio program with CBS. CBS cut his radio program and replaced it with a couple of guys out of new york I think. That pissed Brando off, so he left CBS altogether to go to ESPN/SEC Network to do play-by-play for bball and fball, but he instead ended up at Fox. (Chris Fowler, instead of Brando, was given ESPN/ABC's prime time football play-by-play spot when Musburger went to the SEC network, so many think that's why Brando went to Fox).

Brando backed out of sec network because they only wanted him to call basketball games.

No way Brando was in the running for that. The Fowler-Musburger decision was a function of Folwer's contract demands/Musburger's age.
