Not sure where this needs to go. I was not sure if it was more Rant material. Admins move if needed.

Several photos on social media show the billboard just off Interstate 10 by the new Orleans Parish Prison. The billboard shows Ole Miss' logo with '38' next to it along with a photo of two corndogs (a popular mockery rivals use to describe LSU fans) and '17' next to it.

Shouldn't you be making threads about how terrible white people are?

NOLA isn't and will never be a stronghold for LSU. I saw this clearly on 1-9-12 when I foolishly thought the city would be purple and gold, instead it was majority crimson. Not to mention, the city has a Bama bar "rusty nail" and several people uptown have been sending kids to Alabama and Ole Miss for generations now.

It seems the teams that LSU fans think are too beneath them to be rivals (Ole Miss and Arkansas) have gotten the upper hand on them and the team LSU wants to be their rival (Alabama) owns them so it isn't much of a rivalry.

Yeah it's become cyclical thing based on who's good at the time.

Once Saban is gone I can easily see the decline of the LSU/Bama "rivalry".

Wy in New Orleans though...?

Nice New prison right on the expressway so all the tourist can see it....

Never understood why they just didn't build the new prison in the east in the swamps, build a moat around it and fill it with gators...

New Orleans has a TON of Ole Miss grads/current students from there.

I love the Rusty Nail, but it is definitely a Bama bar.

That's how coaches get fired or forced into retirement.

It's funny, going back to 2000...

LSU is 11-5 against Ole Miss....

Ole Miss had 20 seniors starting in that game, LSU had 14 staring freshman... Can't wait to see the outcome next year...

Agreed - I think as far as SEC alums/fans, Ole Miss is a clear #2 behind LSU in NOLA. Bama is starting to be a lot more represented as well (not even including the sidewalks and bandwagoners).

every city has bars designated for different college and professional teams

ETA: I've been to LSU bars in Denver and Chicago. I watched a Blackhawks game at a Chicago bar in Denver. It's common

For perspective purposes, Ole Miss has probably only been favored to win 3 or 4 out of those 16 games

Ole Miss for the first time in its modern history is actually recruiting elite-level talent, therefore the playing field is becoming a lot more leveled with LSU. The LSU/Ole Miss rivalry has a chance to become legit again based on recent trends.

Denver and Chicago are huge compared to NOLA. Where's the LSU bar in Birmingham? Birmingham and NOLA are comparable. Chicago and Denver are top 15 US markets.

New Orleans Food & Spirits in Birmingham.

Also NOLA and Birmingham aren't really comparable. One is a top tourist destination the other is in Alabama.
