This last part was lost on everyone, including the announcers. Instant replay clearly showed the ball was never recovered by an Oregon player but no one seemed to care. All they cared about was whether or not the ball went 10 yards before it was touched.

Didn't read thread, but has anyone mentioned the Detroit Pistons using a #2 draft pick on Darko Milicic in the 2003 NBA Draft?
1st 5 picks in that draft were Lebron James, Darko Milicic, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, and Dwayne Wade.

I read somewhere he also at one point looked over to his bench and said something like "It's over, baby" then missed the shots. Could be mistaken, though... don't quote me on that.

Yea, that's because they already had a great team established. They didn't get the #2 pick because they were terrible, it was through a trade in the late 90s IIRC.
