Who is the biggest NBA bust in your opinion? Players thatched a lot,ofmore-NBA hype but never lived up to it.

Was looking at Michael Olowkandi and Sam Bowie stats and they weren't that bad considering Olowkandi had some injuries and Bowie had 6 season in the NBA averaging over 10 ppg.

Take out that Jordan was picked after Bowie. Bowie played better than a lot of people picked at #2, just has the distinction of being picked before MJ.

Who was the biggest straight up bust, not injury related (Greg Oden for example)?

I'd vote,Darko Milicic, Kwame Brown or Adam Morrison.

Hasheem Thabeet was the first T5 draft pick to be sent to the D-League.

In hindsight that Darko pick was really bad when you consider the next three players taken after him.

I still say it's LaRue Martin. Darko and Bowie were busts but they weren't terrible players. Bowie averaged 10 and 7 a game while Darko lasted ten years in the NBA. Anthony Bennett was atrocious but the 2013 NBA Draft was one of the worst in recent memory. It's not like the Cavs passed up the next Kobe or Jordan to select him. So that leaves LaRue Martin. He was a really bad player who lasted only four seasons in the NBA AND there were some really good players selected after him such as Bob McAdoo and Dr. J. So that makes him the worst NBA draft bust of all-time in my view.

Bennett is a legit answer. Militia is obvious as well. Leave brown horrible as I originally posted.

I originally said Darko Milicic, Kwame Brown or Adam Morrison.

But, whoever said Anthony Bennett, that is a strong contender!

Kwame

To be fair to Kwame, he wasn't that highly touted. He was a projected lottery pick, but certainly not a #1. It was Jordan's horrible decision making that put Kwame in that position to begin with

Bennett was the worst #1 pick but may not have been the biggest bust for this criteria, he was never that hyped and him being selected #1 was a surprise. He didn't have close to the hype of an Oden, Darko, etc.
