Pretty much. You can still have a strong schedule with one or two of these teams sprinkled in.

If the B1G wants to do that to bolster their overall schedule because they've dealt with weaker teams in their conference pulling down their SoS then so be it. But anyone not looking at the wear and tear of the overall strength of schedule (this just looking at OOC is silly) is being a bit naive.

We were talking about how you claimed that you played a tougher OOC schedule than most. He showed that since 2008, you haven't.

The two what? Games are won and lost. If you'd take yourself off of your stupid pedestal we could probably have a decent conversation but you can't.

No he didn't I'd still put LSU OOC schedule up against most schools. Especially, unlike anyone else, we win them all.

Don't try to take the high road now. You're too far down the low road to switch.

Alabama has had a similar OOC schedule since 2008 and hasn't lost one either.

Stopped reading there. And LSU's OOC win streak dwarf's Alabama's. The Tigers last lost was in 2002. Alabama lost in 2007.

Until teams are not punished for playing a good team and losing, the OOC games will continue as is, and understandably.
Was Mississippi State, TCU, or Baylor really punished by playing a collective shitty non conference schedule? Not really.
Imagine if any of those 3 had played, and lost to a Michigan State like team? None of them would have been considered to be in the playoffs.
The cure for a quality OOC schedule across the country would be to guarantee conference champions (of the power 5) to be included in a 8 team playoff.
That way, teams may play a quality OOC, get experience, and still could afford to make the playoffs.

Me too. For your sake, I'd hope it was Purdue or Illinois.

Yeah, to get this thread back on track...completely eliminating OOC games vs FCS and "cupcake" teams is a bad idea IMHO. I'd go for either less games vs such teams, or not counting wins against both FCS and non-power 5 teams for the purpose of playoff seeding.

Ohio State and LSU are 1-1-1 all time. LSU won the last one. Congrats. LSU has done nothing since.

Except keep that same OOC win streak alive. How long is your school's OOC win streak by comparison?

You can bag on it all you want. If it was so easy to do, more schools would be in the neighborhood. There aren't any.

Last derailment from me. All I've done is defend my school's record.

Northwestern would be ideal. although since they usually count on the opponent to fill up the stadium, it would be REALLY empty at Dyche Stadium.
I'm assuming NU would be interested in a home and home with Tulane because of the strong recruiting in LA

Moral victories are cool. I prefer my team to be winning championships.

Northwestern could be a good match-up. Just depends what type of year you catch them having. Erratic.

doesn't losing to an OOC school in a bowl end that though?
