Nebraska is going to be 11-1 and by that point, will most certainly be top 10. MSU or OSU would get tons of credit for beating a top 10 team in a championship game.

It doesn't matter. Like I said, the committee is not stupid and realizes that Nebraska plays an atrocious conference schedule and out of conference schedule.
They are not that good of a team and since we're talking about the Big 12, NU wouldn't be top 5 in that league.

On the topic of Minnesota, when Ohio St plays them, they will most likely be 9-1 and ranked. I bet TCU at that time will be singing Minnesota's praises then to boost their own image. Minnesota isnt looking so bad to TCU now are they?

Pretty sure no one is using fn Minnesota for leverage. What in the world. Esp since TCU beat them by 3 TDs

I've never seen TCU use them as leverage. Minnesota almost lost to a Purdue team that is Kansas-bad

Big 12 needs to go to east and to 14.

UCF (Or Southern Florida)
East Carolina
Georgia Southern
Troy (Or UAB)
Tulane (or ULL)
None of those are great teams, but the open tv markets they didn't have, and possibly open up more recruiting from the south.

Yes, yall play games that week I believe, but it doesn't guarantee a good matchup like a championship game does.

I doubt it b/c it will help strength of schedule bc the Big 12 is the 2nd best conference this year.

The committee will HEAVILY WEIGH conference champions for consideration of the final four.
ETA: Since the Big 12 does not have a conference championship game, they will also have one more bye week than the rest of the leagues.

True, but then you would have to hope that the team that did win wasn't in the top 10 and didn't win impressively, and that the other team wasn't #1.
Its a lot of what ifs to make it to where even the team that does win doesn't jump ahead, because then their final game is a top 5 win, which the committee will most likely love.
As it is now, it's becoming very likely that the SEC can have 2 teams in the playoffs if both one of the Mississippi schools and Alabama schools both win out for here on out. Because the Big 12 doesn't have that extra championship game, it will be hard for their SOS to look as hard as the SEC's with SEC teams always getting great rankings because there is a biased.

Baylor plays Kansas State that weekend who is currently ranked #11 and 5-1... that's almost the same thing as a CCG and it might be for the conference championship if both teams win up to it
the thing about a CCG is that it only allows two teams in a conference to play that week. everyone else sits on the couch

I guarantee you, when Minnesots is sitting at 8-1 and ranked in the top 25, all the TCU fans will be saying, hey we beat Minnesota...guarantee it! But if Ohio St wins AT an 8-1 top 25 ranked Minnesota, we wont be able to say it. Pretty fn sure of it.

But there is no guarantee that they will both still be the best teams by the time the season ends. I do think it is very likely, but that's why a championship game matters. It (usually) puts the best 2 teams up against each other, which can boost a team into the playoffs the final week of football.
It also keeps the Big 12 best teams at 12 games, along with everyone else. I am sure the committee will look at that, and see that it is no different than the other conferences who ended a week earlier and shouldn't be judged differently.
