They should just leave.
Mega-conference re-alignment is coming anyway. They can always try to tie their boat to Texas and Oklahoma as "traditional powers" and just go wherever they go when conference shifting starts.

I'd call his bluff. Could you imagine this guy saying the same to Ohio State or Michigan? Not putting Nebraska on the same footing as them but there's absolutely zero chance he would ever mumble those words to those schools.

Big Ten needs 14 teams for their current TV deal, right?
Let's say Nebraska does leave and play in another conference. Who in their fricking right mind would leave their conference to join the Big Ten at that point? The Big Ten, for all intents and purposes, would be a dead league for the next 5-10 years. The Big Ten would have to add UConn or some shite.

Ultimately I would assume the B1G has Nebraska by the balls with their media rights but still, if I was NU I'd look to leave once we got our rights back after this

It would be politically difficult to leave at a later date.
