I have a guy in my office that wants to bet $500 that the Patriots win the Superbowl this season. Should I take the field or is this a bad bet?

Take the field easily. Pats as good as they are still like +325 to win the Super Bowl.

Even if you lose, you've got 5 months to get the $500 together.

everyone taking the field is under the misimpression that it's 31 teams against the Pats... 31 teams don't play the Pats. 1 does any given weekend

that guy in your office must not know much about getting odds.

No. The bet is someone else wins the Super Bowl.

Not it actually is 31 teams against the Pats to win the Super Bowl.

You're pretty much betting Pats win 3 consecutive games if they get a 1st round bye. This is of course, there are no major injuries. And that there are no back to back champs in 12 years. And no scandals.

Sure NE won the last 2 SB they played, but the right things have to happen.

bad bet. don't take it.

i hated Brady for a long time. now i can only embrace him as the champion he is. i think he retires after this year.

I'm a DIEHARD Patriots fan and I'd take that bet before he could change his mind.

He wants the Pats and is giving me the field. Although the odds are in my favor, it comes down to the Pats winning 3 in a row come playoff time. What 2 teams in the AFC have a legit shot to beat them in Foxboro and one team in the NFC in the Superbowl?

A lot of shite can go wrong in an NFL season. Steelers and Raiders can beat them in the AFC. More in the NFC.

NE is +300 to win the SB. Why not take the bet and bet 200 on NE to win it all. Profits any way it goes....assuming co worker don't stiff you. But you can go to HR if that happens.

The odds are well in your favor

Many things can happen in a season

Take the bet or let the guy know the entire MSB board will take it for you

that is great advice. but simply taking the $500 bet will cost him $500
