Very impressive for LeBron to go to his 1st NBA finals after being in the league only 3 years? But had no one around him that was of any help....now in his 11th season back at it but doing it like a man possessed! Still not much around him.

they are both probably the 2 worst supporting cast ever for nba finals
Posted on 6/16/15 at 9:02 am to longhorn22
2015 cast is much better in my opinion. I still can't believe he took that 2007 group to the Finals.

Wouldn't Iverson's teammates have to be in the running as well?
Dikembe Mutombo
Matt Geiger
Todd MacCulloch
Tyrone Hill
George Lynch
Jumaine Jones
Roshown McLeod
Allen Iverson
Raja Bell
Rodney Buford
Kevin Ollie
Eric Snow
Aaron Mckie

funny, this cast has saved lebron's arse and has balled out a few games, zero credit.
they lose a few and they are horrible.

Funny, Shannon Brown never was really involved in that Cavs team at all, yet when he teamed up with Kobe he was a beast and ended up getting a pretty big contract afterward...

Iverson's Sixers were worse.

Meh - over the walking wounded and dysfunctional Bulls and then the walking wounded and wide-eyed Hawks. The East was just horrible this year.

This roster is eons better than that 2007 roster.

For some reason, when I looked up that roster, the thing that jumped out at me was Marv Albert saying "Raja Bell.... FOR...... THREEEEEE! YESS!"

Eons better? Are you kidding?
This supporting cast isn't eons better than any supporting cast in NBA history, much less NBA finals history.

I don't think you're giving enough thought to just how awful that 07 group was.

I'd take the 2007 group. Best ability is availability.
This year's Lebron with the 2007 crew could beat these Warriors. Still don't beat the Spurs.
What games did this current crew bail out Lebron?

Wasn't that the year that Boobie Gibson went frickin insane from the 3 point line in the playoffs? I swear he couldn't miss for a while until getting torn a new one in the finals

They had 10 players average double digit minutes. This team has 7, with Mike Miller being 8th with 7 MPG.
The stats are very comparable for the supporting players against a better Spurs team, but with more players getting more minutes.
ETA:
07 - Drew Gooden - 13/8
15 - Mosgov - 13/7
07 - Gibson 11/2
15 - Delly 8/2
07 - Ilgauskas 8/10
15 - Tristan Thompson 9/13
07 - Varejao 8/5
15 - Shumpart 6/4
07 - Pavlivic 10/3
15 - JR Smith 10/4
But then on top of that, 2007 had Larry Hughes, Damon Jones, Donyell Marshall, and Eric Snow all getting average of 15 minutes. 2015 has nothing past what is listed besides James Jones with 17 MPG.

This current finals cast isn't the same roster that carried this team into the playoffs and throughout season. They did have K Love and Kyrie Irving >>> 2007 Roster.

Pistons series.
And it looks like that Larry Hughes injury set that team back when they needed that extra offensive gear for the Spurs.
