Brees has done this before

Right now it is a toss-up. In the long run Rodgers will end up having better career numbers and probably multiple Super Bowl titles, so he will be considered the better QB from a historical standpoint

Brees is like my favorite player ever, but Rodgers had a better season and if I was picking one right now going forward, I'm taking Rodgers. He's younger and has proven he can play lights out on the big stage, as Brees can.

Rodgers is the correct answer. Brees is so boring. Have you ever seen him put on the champs belt. GTFO brees

Rodgers did have the better season.

I think Brees was negatively affected by playing with an injury most of this year (which they tried to keep under wraps but still showed up in a career high in interceptions)

Each of their first 3 years starting shows Aaron Rodgers is going to end up being the better QB. Better completion %, better QB rating, more yards, more TDs. Right now Rodgers is entering his prime and Brees is on the back end of his career so even though they were comparable over the past three years, I think I'd rather have Rodgers going forward.

it should be noted that rodgers sat for 3 years before starting and brees was starting in year 2

And as far as going forward, Rodgers' habit of getting concussions shouldn't for forgotten

yea well here are their averages beginning in year 4 of their careers and going 3 years after that.

Brees(2004-2006) 64 comp% 26 TD 11 Int 96 QB rating
Rodgers(08-10) 64 comp% 28 TD 10 Int 99 QB rating

it should be noted Brees had 2 years of real game experience before those numbers and Rodgers had more ypg, but i think that is more an indication of a team's gameplan.

I think this thread will be a fun bump this time next year. Just because Rodgers had amazing success this year doesn't translate to multiple super bowls. Things can definitely happen to either quarterback to take away the success. Injuries, coaching changes, teams figuring out their systems.

As a fan of a team with no quarterback, if you asked me to pick one or the other. I take Rodgers and don't think twice about.

Guy is a baller, not to mention he's four years younger than Brees.
