The Charlotte Hornets are in the Southwest Division now? When the hell did that happen?

Also this series has what like 7 lock HOFers as key contributors in the game. That has got to be a solid total.

Manu is no lock.

He barely does so. 316 of his 444 made field goals came within 10 feet this year.

Incorrect.

While the blocks would still qualify as within 10 feet, I won't argue you here. He CAN shoot it from outside the paint, and hits at enough of a clip to keep defenses honest, but nah, that's not our first option, of course.

LINK

Ratings are down! People are turning to other sports...the infamous NBA vs Hockey/Soccer debate. While those two may be behind, the fact of the matter is that they are definently catching up. That LA vs NY Stanley Cup Final game was AMAZING last night! Talk about intense. The NBA simply doesnt give me that same intensity.

Read the link i posted about the article on ESPN today talking about how the ratings for the NBA playoffs continue to slide and how LeBron's popularity, statistically hasnt come back. If Lebron James cant fix the NBA...who can? The NBA has many many issues it needs to deal with.

Yes it was.

The NBA delivers intensity in spades. .

Go back and watch game 6 of the Western Conference Finals this year and get back to me.

And btw, I like both basketball and hockey. Pitting them against each other is stupid. Both are ridiculous in their intensity especially at the highest levels.

I mean the whole sport itself. The NHL is a fast paced high intensity game. The NBA doesnt even compare IMO. One game 6 isnt going to change that. The NHL playoffs have been absolutely amazing this year! Its a shame that some people just wont even give the sport a chance.

Yes it is. So is the NBA.

I just picked the most recent barnburner. The NBA playoffs have been scintillating by any metric this year as well whether you care for basketball or not.

Again, you're talking to a fan of both sports. Stop trying to pit them against each other. It's stupid.

I notice you didn't mention anything about Chamberlain vs. Russell. Seems like all you did was mention good basketball during YOUR generation.

You are no different from the flat-billers you are criticizing. You are just older and wrinklier.

Im a fan of both sports too! Hockey fans, much more then NBA fans watch both sports. Conversely NBA fans, much more then NHL fans, never give Hockey a chance. I have my theory as to why that is, but thats a different story. I think where we differ is in the intensity argument. I just dont think the NBA is as intense as you make it out to be...The NBA has timeouts and stoppage in play. The NHL is nonstop. There have been some snooooozer games...like the entire SA/OKC series minus one game...and that was the WCF's! I guess we will just agree to disagree with that part of it. My guess is that because this is a rematch, and the trend of these playoff ratings, this will be one of the lowest rated Finals in recent history.

Even in a blowout, excellent basketball was being played. Every game doesn't have to be within a score to be "good."

You're logic is atrociously incorrect, but I really don't care about ratings tbh. Spurs have always had lower-rated Finals because people see SA as boring and I'm ok with that.

We're never going to agree. My point is if you're a fan of both sports like you claim, quit going out of your way to tear down the NBA like you've been doing. Disingenuous move on your part.

I agree here. NHL playoff hockey is WAY better than the Nba playoffs.......

I realize you flat bill wearing millenial bandwagon fans think the Heat invented basketball but there have been better teams and better playoff runs in the past.

Without even thinking it through that much, the Lakers vs Celtics and Lakers vs Detroit series in the 80s were better. It should be a good series though.

Why do we have to go with this hyperbole? It's going to be a great Finals. That's all that needs to be said.

And I do agree that people romanticize the 80s. It had it's great points but I prefer the game of today. It's much faster paced with more athleticism.

Plus people on the east coast aren't gonna give a shite about this series and having the games start at 9 p.m. drives people away......
