they grinded down teams with bowen/duncan in their defensive primes

Which was still awesome. So were the Detroit teams a few years ago.

No wonder y'all gave up on that rebound in Game 6 last year. It's in the DNA.

Here's what I don't get:

Some NBA haters rag in the NBA for having good defense. But when teams come along that ARE defensive juggernauts (mid-2000s spurs and pistons, modern-day Memphis and indiana), they rag on those teams for being "boring."

without france we would've lost the revolutionary war. it's only fitting that Frenchmen help the spurs defeat the evil empire

How the hell can you be the greatest power forward of all time when you are a center? Second of all, Karl Malone, Kevin Garnett, Charles Barkley. Take your pick.

How are Karl Malone and Kevin Garnett drastically different than Duncan in regards to position? It isn't like Duncan doesn't shoot from outside the paint.

Also this series has what like 7 lock HOFers as key contributors in the game. That has got to be a solid total.

People tend to underrate how good Duncan is, and even more criminally underrate james, whose consistency and greatness is just taken for granted. Duncan and James are 2 of the 8-10 greatest ballers ever.

Everything you say is fact.

I agree it has the potential to be one of the greatest Finals series ever. On paper, it is.

However, can it top last year's? We had a tight 7 games, and Ray Allen probably hit the biggest shot in league history.

Actually 3 or 4 games were blowouts iirc.

Not that that means it wasn't a hotly contested series though

Like sending Horry to instigate the bench clearing that got all the Suns best players suspended?
