Nothing in this thread touches this one. This is how the anthem is meant to be sung, as ONE NATION

It is hard to touch Houston. One of my other favorite versions is actually from the Dixie Chicks at SB XXXVII. I know they are controversial, but it was a pretty great rendition done in a three part harmony.

Tynan Ronan, the guy who sang multiple years during the Yankees World Series in the early 2000s is my favorite. God Bless America gave me chills.

That was pretty good, but I'll see that one and raise it with this one Jim Cornelison.

ETA: I didn't read the thread before posting and see I was beat

Just about any Star Spangled Banner played after an American Olympic gold medal. I guess the 1980 hockey team comes to mind. Any other Olympic gold anthem moments?

This is my choice.

The best national anthems are when the crowd joins in and the singer is no longer needed.

Whitney Houston doesn't count.

Because it was taped and lip-synched.

It only counts if you do it live when the pressure is on.

The worst is when they use that same girl for every Miami Heat home playoff game

I'm pretty confident I'll live the rest of my life without seeing a better national anthem than Whitney's version at the SB. I just don't know how that can be topped. Not only did she absolutely nail it, but she's freaking Whitney Houston. When she nails it, fuhgedaboutit.

I didn't know it was taped.

Not changing my answer.

The dual anthem in Pittsburgh last month after the shooting in Ottawa was fantastic.

Jeff Jimerson is great. He lets the crowd sing a large part of the Star Spangled Banner after O'Canada.

LINK Chris Botti's national anthem at the giants this year was the best musical interpretation I've ever heard
