There was never really an argument for them being over their 2011 team. At least not a good argument.

Clemson ran over 90 plays. Not the defense's fault. Offense couldn't give tje defense a break

Dude... Bamas offensive performance was one of the worst ever.

Their defense is literally the reason Clemson wasn't running their asses out of the stadium.

Exactly.

I don't give a frick who you put out there. If you plan to give Watson 90 fricking shots at you because your offense blows arse, it's gonna be a challenge.

Bama scored 31 points with damned mirrors

Defense gave up 35 points. 21 in the fourth quarter.

And have up the lead with quickness to end the game. But keep making excuses for them.

They played one good offense all year and gave up like 45 points. The sec was fricking trash.

Bamas defense is nasty, but Watson and their OC were incredible. Great players playing on both sides

That defense was maybe the best I've ever seen

And it was in a much much better SEC to boot

I get that the defense was on the field a ton, but when your entire program is built on superior conditioning and the idea that tired is not in your vocabulary. You better show up and not allow 35 points.

They never gave safety help to the guy covering Mike Williams. So deshaun continued to abuse it.

Clemson wanted it more. They refused to get tired. They knew everything Bama was gonna do.

Superior play, superior coaching

I think the "tired" line is over used.

I think the fundamental problem with defense constantly going back on the field is ya know, that guy on the other side of the ball is pretty good.

You probably have a pretty good game plan for him. But, the more shots he gets at you, the more familiar he becomes. The more he discovers the cracks that exist in any game plan.

I've said it all year.

BAMA got away with playing less than averages throughout the SEC. The one competent QB they played during the season roasted them. Unfortunately, Ole Miss' defense wasn't good enough to keep them out of the end zone.

Their defense was put on a pedestal by playing less than stellar offenses all year.

It was really more like the best 1st unit front 7 ever. The secondary was very average but no one would ever know with that pass rush.

Bama's defense just didn't have to play deep into the 4th quarter much all season.

Well said. It's an incredible front 7, but they don't quite have the depth they had last year
