admittedly, i don't know a ton about the nfl ... i do know the basics and keep up with the standings ... i lived in houston for 20 years before recently moving back to alabama, so i keep up with the texans a bit ... i know they didn't have much of a qb when the season started (hoyer is still a bit of a ?), and o'brien's used 4 of them this season while on their way to their current position which gets them in with a win ... what other coaches should be considered for coach of the year? ... rivera and arians have been there several years, so they've had time to get their system into place and draft some marquee players ...

Arians, Rivera, Zimmer, Bowles, Reid. The winner should probably come from one of those five.

Arians or Rivera, but I gotta give some props to O'brien for the job he's done. They looked like the worst team in football during the month of September. Now the'll likely win their division. Awesome job.

Rivera lost his only WR before the season and is 14-1. He's COY. Arians has done a great job as well.

but he's got a really good qb who's a threat to run and has a cannon arm ... that kind of player can make a mediocre wr corps look decent ... cam can make throws that the vast majority of other qbs can't make ... it's his arm strength that separates him ...

Patriots. They lost so many players to injuries and still managed to get a bye week.

I am not a Redskins fan at all. Gruden. Deal with that owner and win. Wow.

Arians' Cards this year are more a reflection of his incredible roster building and development of talent of the years. He's done nothing overly impressive this season to warrant being COTY. He's basically just managed the most talented roster in the league.

For this year I'd go with Rivera or Belichik. The Panthers have next to nothing on offense, and they've turned into a great unit on that side of the ball in the second half of the season (save for this week). He's also developed a dominant defense. As for Bill, it's pretty much business as usual for him. Their offensive roster is half full of walk-ons and guys they grabbed off the street. He and Tom could make anyone decent in that offense.

I am not saying he should win it but he should be in the discussion. What he has done with that dumpster fire is impressive.

Best thing that happened to the Jets was Geno getting his jaw broken. Do not think Bowles had a hand in that.

Lewis has never won COY has he?

I think Zimmer may have did a better job last year. He had that team buying in, so this year they just kept on keeping on.
