Does it still drive you nuts or have you just come to accept kids being paid or have full scholarships to play at local private high schools? Schools going from not even being on the radar in 2013 to winning 4 straight Football State Championships.
Is it about developing homegrown kids or buying talent from all around the state or even neighboring states?

The fact is HSAA’s don’t have the staff for rules enforcement like the NCAA does. So it’s mostly left up to the principals and schools to police eachother. And they don’t. It’s just a big game of he said she said. And the HSAA does nothing about it.

If you don't like it, offer more money or beat them.

This was the reason for the split. It’s not fair when a public school has to wait for great talent to grow up in their zone then a private school can hand pick picks anytime they want.

I think it has no impact on me or mine whatsoever so why would I care that a kid that otherwise couldn't afford a great education is receiving one?

There's public schools in Louisiana "enticing" certain out of zone kids to enroll in their school. It's not just privates doing shady stuff.

They have to sit out at a public school, right?

Generally, that is the rule. But there’s always a way around it. High school sports just seems to have become so shady in recruiting. Private and Public

I haven't seen a melt like the OP since Evangel and Brock Berlin were whipping up on teams in 2000

There's ways some of the public schools with serious athletic boosters are able to come up with an in-zone address.

Didn’t you crybabies get segregation from the private schools like you wanted?

Here’s what I don’t understand...

Instead of this split nonsense, why don’t they just take all these football factories and throw them in a 6A power conference. They can afford the statewide travel, it eliminates the split and they can do their thing while competing in their own classification. You still redistrict every 2 years if a program falls off.

This always seemed like a much better alternative to the split.

His team is a private school who got beat by another private school who is just better at recruiting than his team.

I’m actually at a public school so I really have no dog in the fight. I just enjoy high school athletics done the right way

But going to a private school doesn’t require all that, right?
