What does the PR firm specifically do? How does the help or hurt Baylor's chances?

They were hired to help our AD get some national interviews. We've used them numerous times in the past few years.
"We were simply hired by Baylor as extra media relations hand as has happened multiple times over last 4-yrs.We're just trying to set up some national interviews for (athletic director) Ian (McCaw)," Sullivan said. "It's media relations, that's all. "

If hiring the PR firm helps their chances even a tiny bit, it's worth it IMO.
