Why are we ranking others ahead.

The pollsters are ranking Alabama, FSU, Oregon, and Ohio State ahead of them because of the reputations of those schools. It may not be fair or relevant to this year's Baylor team, but it is reality. Baylor won't be jumping those schools as long as each of them is undefeated. The only possible jump would be Ohio State and I don't even believe that would happen.

Is that right? Maybe - maybe not, but it is what it is and you have to rank them in order based on something when there are 5 teams that are undefeated.

Yeah, I honestly believe Baylor's the fourth best team in the country after Bama, FSU and Oregon. Ohio State's been dominant the last couple weeks but I think Baylor would handle them easily.

Baylor won't jump Ohio State, but an undefeated Baylor will jump and undefeated Ohio State at the end of the season.

We won't come close to passing Alabama, Oregon, or FSU unless they lose a game.

All I'm saying is...if Baylor destroys Oklahoma...

...at least the media will start asking that question..."why are we ranking these teams ahead of them?"

"Maybe this isn't just regular Baylor?"

It will make the voters perk up their ears.

It will put Baylor seriously into the conversation.

If Baylor wins by 5-10 points...you won't hear much from Baylor the rest of the way and they pollsters will feel justified in keeping them #5 if everyone else wins out.

Give me a break. Those 4 teams all have much better wins than Baylor. They deserved to be ranked higher, regardless of name recognition

Baylor 45 Oklahoma 35.

Problem is nobody will watch because earlier in the day RGIII will tell the media that he finds the word "Redskins" offensive and then 20 minutes later a voice mail will leak with Dan Snyder saying "You tell those powwow n-----s that I'm never changing this team's fricking name!" and what sounds like Roger Goodell in the background laughing, and all game broadcasts will be interrupted with this breaking news coverage.

No shite. Where in my post did I say that I think that Baylor doesn't belong behind all 4 of those teams?

However, if Baylor runs the table the rest of the way along with the other 4 teams up there, they will still not be in front of any of those teams and Baylor has a pretty tough stretch the rest of the way. Their schedule by the end of the year will be SIGNIFICANTLY more difficult that Ohio State, but they will probably not be ranked in front of them.

The odds of five undefeated teams from BCS conferences at the end of the season are effectively zero.

Hell the odds of more than two are extremely low. It'll all shake itself out.

Who do you think would win on a neutral field between Baylor and Ohio State? Personally, I think the Bears would run them out of the stadium

Why? Baylor gets gashed up the middle. OSU would be all over that.

Baylor would most likely score every time they had the football. The Bucks would have zero chance of stopping Seastrunk, and if they tried then Petty would go over the top would Reese and Goodley. That's what makes this Baylor offense so deadly: they run AND throw.

Ohio State would most likely be put in a situation where they had to throw, causing Braxton to throw some pics. That is how Baylor games have the snowball effect and you see scores like 70-21. Ohio State is no exception

I would agree with that. However, when you look at the schedules remaining Oregon, Ohio State and Florida State don't really have any tough games at all. Ohio State will have to play Michigan State in the Big 10 Championship game which could possibly present a problem for them. Florida State has to play Florida, but Florida just isn't very good this year. And Oregon has to get by Stanford.

Bama has potentially 3 tough games left (LSU, Auburn, and SEC Championship, although I don't think that one will be very challenging for Bama). Baylor has several tough games left.

I could easily see 3-4 teams finishing this season undefeated, but November is when teams always start slipping up and losing so we will have to see.

Disagree with Oregon. Stanford tonight could be a problem, as could Dick Rod's wildcats on the road. Arizona State in the CCG would be no pushover.

Everyone knows OSU's schedule sucks, but so does FSU's. I think FSU is a really good team, but the ACC has so many bad teams in that league that it makes it impossible for FSU to have a tough schedule.

My last sentence was that they need to get by Stanford tonight. I should have said that Oregon doesn't have any tough ones after this week, but certainly they could lose to Stanford tonight. I don't think they will, but certainly they could.

but so does FSU's

FSU had to go on the road and play Clemson and they beat them by almost 40 points. That is an incredibly impressive win. Miami is not the best team in the country, but they are pretty good and FSU destroyed them as well. FSU also has to play UF. So, FSU has actually played a pretty decent schedule. FSU schedule >>>>>>>>>>> Ohio State schedule.
