Tennessee - Va Tech

“I don’t think any reasonable person could anticipate that with 150,000-plus seats that the track would be announcing a sellout well ahead of the game,” said Tennessee athletic director Dave Hart. “To me, that was not anticipated by very many people.”

Ready to get my redneck on that weekend

It is going to be a disaster and I hope I can just sit and watch all the terribleness at once

Traffic in and out should be a hoot, but this is a very cool idea

In theory it's a good idea....

And just to compare Bristol Motor Speedway to each school's stadiums:

no, it isnt.

its a terrible idea.

a race track is a HORRIBLE venue for people to watch a football game.

the sightlines and distances at this are going to make the seats football games at baseball stadiums have look good by comparison.

That's a more accurate statement, looking at the stadium comparison

Why wouldn't this sell out?

You merged the neckcar and rednecks from Tenn and virginia, this appeals to many in that area.

The gigantic arena style video board they installed will help a ton, since you'll likely be watching that more than the action on the field.

At the end of the day its a major novelty factor. Since they sold out they'll do it gain next year and only sell half the seats and scrap it going forward.
