The best team should host every game of the series. they have already devalued the regular season so much by giving an inferior team 3 out of 7 games at home they further devalue it.

IMO, you have the better record than the team you are playing you get all the games at your place no ifs ands or butts.

A 5 game series should always be like this:

2-2-1

2: better team, 2: lesser team, 1: better team

7 game?

2-2-1-1-1

frick the traveling logistics and increase in potential series time.

Do you think the NBA & NHL are devalued as well?

You talk about changes and the fans getting screwed? How about this? Let somebody other than the freaking Yankees play in primetime.

You are a season ticket or limited package person and your team makes the playoffs and then you can't go to the playoff games because they're all over before you get off of work. Sucks to be you. Too fricking bad. You should live in New York City because that's the only ones that television and the media care about.

The only thing they need to change is the World Series field advantage being decided by the All-Star game. Might work for something like the NBA, but with the DH rule in the MLB, it can be a pretty big advantage for an AL or NL team.

so the television networks who invest billions of dollars into the game should hurt their investment by putting teams on in a primetime who get lower ratings so 30000 fans can go the game?

makes sense

I agree with this sentiment...but i also have no problem with folks relying on their cash cow instead of putting a team less watched just to pacify fans.

I get that the Yankees get higher ratings, but come on. That doesn't mean that they should get preferential treatment for EVERY SINGLE GAME OF THE PLAYOFFS. I'm not asking for anything ridiculous. Maybe just one of their 5 games could be in the middle of the afternoon. ONLY ONE. WOULD THAT HURT ANYONE? How do we know if the Nationals can attract a national audience IF THEY NEVER GET A CHANCE TO ATTRACT ONE?

That would be dumb. That's why they don't do it.

They've been on national TV on ESPN plenty this year. So have the Yankees. Guess who rated higher?

That's why.
