He was stale. Schools expect real results at some point. His last Final Four was when Carmelo was in school. T.J. Ford was his point guard.

Thibodeau?

Doesn't seem like college guy at all, especially with all the glad-handing you have to do at Texas.

He made the tournament this year. Only 68 out of 300 schools make it. I'd say he did a good job this year and in his career and let's face it, Texas is not a basketball school and they don't appear to wish to devote the resources to basketball.

Schools like Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Florida are the few schools who decide to have winning programs in both and have devoted resources to both and have fan bases who like success in both.

Places like Texas and Alabama will never have a fan base and boosters who want winning basketball like football.

Barnes did a good job considering the limitations he has.

He had a top 10 team this year and was considered to be out of the tourney or last in by projections

No program at UT is lacking resources and they also benefit from a top 3 recruiting base. Even this team that went out in the 1st rd had a future lottery pick who went to HS in Texas.

I thought that they would wait until the end of the month, when his buyout drops.

When Grant was hired it seemed like the best possible hire Bama could've made. Look what happened. On top of it, their previous coach is successful at a better program.

Maybe a home run hire for them will get the A&M donors off their asses to finally quit defending Billy Kennedy's shittastic coaching
