Pretty close FSU looks legit they can play with Bama.

I'm not sure if Alabama could beat them right now.
but give them a month or so to get ready for them in the title game and I give Bama the edge.
that's what we're talking about ultimately.

Sounds about right.......

right now? Bama. The media pundits will really overplay this Miami win, although they will probably not finish the season in the top 15 if I had to guess. They might pull a Clemson, still win the division, and get smoked by FSU again in the ACC championship game.
We'll know a lot more about Bama after next weekend. But they look really really strong

FSU looks like a sec team.

Based on resumes? FSU, no doubt. It'd be a crime if they're not No. 1 tomorrow.
I would absolutely love for Alabama to get bumped out of the #1 spot.

being number 1 presents issues that being number 2 does not

I feel like it would keep the team really focused. If they drop without losing who's to say Oregon can't jump em too?

statistics do
eta: most of the problems it creates have nothing to do with on field play

If they played next week? FSU
If you gave Saban and Jimbo each a month to prepare? Bama

Alabama has about as good a chance as Clemson did.

I firmly believe if they'd play next week, FSU wins by double digits.

when was the last time Alabama lost a game by double digits?
I think FSU looks really, really good. Either #1 or 2 in the country. But Bama is loaded. Oregon and Ohio State both have offenses that in a one game scenario can make up for talent deficiencies elsewhere. I just think we need to wait a couple weeks before this thread can really make sense
