ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall is still standing up for his right to kneel during the national anthem but his decision continues to hit him financially.

Marshall, who knelt during the Star-Spangled Banner in last Thursday night's season opener against the Carolina Panthers, said following Broncos' practice Monday that he just lost his second endorsement deal since he took a knee.

The Air Academy Federal Credit Union parted ways with him shortly after Thursday's game and Monday Marshall said CenturyLink, a cable/communications company has ended their agreement.

You're a professional athlete who plays a game for millions of dollars and get paid to badly appear in radio/TV commercials for more hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars and all you have to do is be neutral.

I support this guy's right to express his opinion, but when you do so you have to be prepared for the consequences.

Well, he seems to be prepared for the consequences. I mean, the cause appears to be more important to him than the endorsement money.

Based on statistics, we'll see how these guys feel in 5 years about that.

True.

Unless I missed a quote or 2, he didn't seem upset and sounded like he knew this was possibly part of the deal.

I suspect he's playing it cool because he can't back out now.
