This has been pretty fun to watch. Man I wish we wouldn't have blown that Giants game or we would've had the sweep. Let's win the series today!

Back in the day, Phil Niekro always said that he loved summer in Atlanta because his knuckler was better in the heat and humidity.

I think Dickey would agree.

Quietly sneaking towards .500 which is unreal with this pitching staff and bullpen.

The way the NL is this year we don't have a shot at the playoffs but gotta wonder if we try to keep this team together for next year. Gonna be an interesting trade deadline to see what Coppy has planned for next year.

BP is gone. No reason to re-sign him.

Jaime is gone too.

Even though we are only pushing .500 and won't sniff the playoffs unless the Nats implode, the first half has been hella fun to watch. I'm thoroughly enjoying the offensive production. Tough stretch coming up to end the first half of the season.

BP still has his no trade clause and has mentioned wanting to end his career in Atlanta. I was talking more about Adams, Flowers, and Kemp getting moved.

BP will have nowhere to play (should be dealt before the deadline) with Albies now starting to come fast since he came off the DL.

One of the corner OFs will have to be traded or benched to make room for Acuna as well.

I would bet the rotation will be either Julio, Folty, Newcomb, Soroka, Allard or 4 of those guys and a TOR guy we acquire.

I'm fine with sticking with Flowers as long as it's not a super long term commitment.

Kemp I would prefer to sell high on but Kemp/Inciarte/Acuna could be fun.

Dump Adams ASAP.

Why? Acuna is all of 19 and shouldn't be seeing Atlanta until after the all star break next year at the earliest. He can just replace Nick when he is ready after starting in AAA.

I'd rather see us keep Nick specifically so we don't pull the same stupidity we did with Swanson and waste a year of control on Acuna for no reason.

I would not be surprised to see Acuna in September tbh.

Last I heard from Coppy (on the radio a couple weeks ago) he was asked about Soroka, Allard and Acuna being up this year and he said not to rule it out with any of them.

That would be pure idiocy, Allard in particular is nowhere close to ready yet. We shouldn't be seeing any of those three until they've pitched a half season in AAA. Given how much of a launching pad our new park is, rushing young pitchers would be a huge mistake.

Soroka and Acuna will be on the OD roster next year if I had to bet on it.

Not saying I am on board with the philosophy but the promotions to get those 3 to AA were more than a little aggressive.

And all 3 have done well, if not excelled.

I'm not putting much hope into, but if Freddie is even remotely decent at 3b, we will have a huge dilemma on our hands with Adams.

And I really hope to keep Flowers. He just continues to play well.

Really don't know how we're going to move Kemp nor Markakis with those contracts.

And obviously BP has no long term place on this team because of Albies.
