Peraza

Where is he going to play exactly? He's really the most obvious prospect trade bait we have (him or Jace).

Mallex Smith has much more upside and is a natural CF. Jace is probably fairly even with him at 2B, and Albies will likely be ready by mid 2017 and be better than both as our 2B of the future.

For Julio I agree, I don't really see a point in trading him either, it's always a bad idea to try and sell low, and he would have very little trade value right now.

Same for Folty really. And I'd like to see them turn Folty into a relief pitcher full time to see how he does, he could be a future setup guy or closer for us.

I don't want Uribe playing every day at 38 years old.. And if he's not playing every day at 38 I certainly don't want him riding the bench as a situational player eating 5 million

Bowman has mentioned a few times that Julio could be traded in the offseason. I would be fine with trying to extract some value from him, especially if he can put it together a little bit in the second half. The steadily decreasing velocity is a little concerning. Starting to remind me of Jurrjens.

Not sure I would trade Folty either but they seem to have some makeup concerns and he is the most obvious choice of our young pitchers imo.

I do not think Uribe is a great fit for what we're trying to do as an organization.

Trading him this month would be the best move in my opinion but I doubt they will.

Make the second year a team option, whatever really. Fact of the matter is there really aren't really any good options to sign in free agency at 3B, and there are really no great 3B prospects doing well in the upper minors we could trade for outside of Corey Seager, who the Dodgers are very unlikely to trade (and even if they did we'd have to give up Miller at the least to get him).

The only other trade options really we'd only have under control for 2 years max anyway, so I really wouldn't see the point.

Yeah, agreed on that, and given his extension it might be an okay idea to move him if they are worried about him turning into a pumpkin. Bowman is basically a Braves FO mouthpiece so you're probably right.

And yeah, Folty is the most logical one to get traded, particularly if they don't think he can hack it as a high leverage reliever.

Would trade Jace before I traded Peraza.

Definitely pretty similar. But from the little I've seen of Jose I think his hit tool is a tad better, and his speed will play much better than Jaces.

Yeah, fairly similar to me as well. More OBP with Jace, more avg with Peraza. Peraza probably has slightly more potential defensively at 2B, and of course more speed.

If I wasn't so high on Albies I'd probably care more about the two of them, but they are just holding down the fort till he's ready to me. So I'd trade whichever of Jace/Peraza brings the most back in trade, which is likely Peraza.

Juan Uribe is 36 years old kind of like Julio Franco was 39 in 2007.

Still, looks like Uribe still has a lot left in the tank. The thing is predicting when that tank will go empty, so you make a good point.

Keith Law mentioned that there are rumblings that Peraza is going to start seeing more and more time at SS in Gwinnett. I think that is the correct decision and leads me to believe they are showcasing him for a possible trade.

Sources: #Braves continue pushing 3B Chris Johnson in trade proposals, including deals in which he would be attached to another player.

#Braves used same model when they required #Padres to take Upton Jr. to get Kimbrel. #SFGiants among teams with no interest in Johnson.

One way those clubs could line up $$$ would be Johnson, Maybin for Peavy, Pagan. Sources say that precise combination was not discussed.

Peavy, in first yr of two-yr deal with full no-trade clause, one of four SPs under contract to #SFGiants in ’16. Pagan still valued by club.

Not sure I'm following Rosenthal there. If Giants have no interest in CJ why does he go on to write two more tweets about possible CJ to Giants trade?

Not really sure, I follow him either. Seems like he is just trying to get the point across that we want to trade CJ like we did BJ.

ETA: Can someone pull up the CJ Extension thread? Would be a good read.
