No. Stop it. Fades are awful
Well even if it has a low probability of succeeding, it has a far lower probability of an interception. At worst, it's like a spike and you still have 2 downs and a TO to run Lynch.

Yeah, the telegraphed slant into traffic was much better.

The fade was made for situations like these.

First of all, classy post--been here after my team lost a title game before. It ain't easy

Secondly:

This. I enjoyed it immensely

Thirdly, y'all will be back in the mix again next year, of that I'm sure

So a worst call makes the fade a good call?

Yeah, if you're choosing to pass on 2nd at that distance to keep the timeout (and a running play) in your pocket for 3rd down, the fade is an exceptional call.

Sound analysis.

Besides the Rant hating it, why is the fade such a poor choice? Is it the boredom of only having a TD or an incompletion as the only two options?

It's an extremely low percentage play. It's a joke of a play call

Tough loss no doubt, but y'all will probably be back next year.

No. I was a neutral observer, and that ending made me borderline sick to my stomach. That play was cringeworthy.

denying Lynch a crack in that short yardage situation goes against everything that got Seattle there in the first place.

its almost like they wanted to match up New England on the way that the Pats had scored their last TD.

Brady had tossed a short pass to Edelman so they wanted to top that? I don't get it.

It could have been worse. We could have been the Packers.
