@Ken_Rosenthal: All signs point to this being the end of A-Rod’s career. Only questions are when and how.

Replacing Girardi as manager, effective immediately.

Girardi to DH.

What a waste. Would have been much better if he would have just signed with the Red Sox after the Rangers. Yankees ruined him.

That wasn't his fault. The MLBPA vetoed that trade because A-Rod was going to restructure his contract and willingly reduce his salary in order to play for the Red Sox.

Apparently he's on the lineup card for today's game. What's behind that?

Probably announcing he's done at the end of the year like Texiera.

Who would the Yankees still have on the books next year, McCann? Seems like they're in the position the Cubs were in a few years ago -- grow these prospects for one more year and be mediocre or bad again at the MLB level, but then go all out on the huge 17/18 FA class, alongside bringing these kids up. Future looks good.

Watching the MLB Network coverage and they're talking about how he completely changed his image from 3 years ago. Has he really done a good job of that?

Sounds like his last game is Friday. He'll stay around through next season as a "special assistant".
