Are Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson the worse commentator duo?

danielson is great. verne is verne. gary rambles and goes on his little tangents once in a while but his analysis is terrific. blackledge is up there too.

They actually are decent, do you ever listen to the late night WAC games that ESPN has on Saturdays with Neeley and Diaz-Infante?

No. You're lucky enough to not hear the duos that are worse, since they don't get good gigs like Verne and Gary have. Put on a shitty ESPN3 game with two lousy teams playing and you'll hear far worse commentary

Actually they're the best
Verne still has the voice but he acts like an old man. Danielson has no peers in any sport in any medium as a color commentator

Danielson doesn't have a great voice, but in a key situation leave him to call the play before its snapped and be right on the money, and I'm not talking about obvious reads

And no, they are not the WORST. Gary is very knowledgeable and doesn't pull punches for the sake of being nice. If a player, team, coach, ref, makes a stupid play/call, then he points it out as such.
Verne is past his prime, but he still provides the gravitas of being a long time announcer. He may not be at the top of his game anymore, but everyone recognizes his voice and when you hear it you know it's a big game.
SEC fans hate Verne and Gary because every school's fanbase thinks Verne and Gary hate "insert SEC school" and love "insert rival SEC school."
