You can now make a case.

The Jets could be in the conversation but they are too far behind if the Patriots win tonight.

Jets look to be on the rise. That defense is good

6. Chiefs

IMO. Of course the Steelers will probably end up with the 5th or 6th seed.

The Chiefs are actually really good this year. The question with them is obvious, how far can they go with Alex Smith as their QB.

Their offense still isn't good.

Pats, Broncos, Bengals, Steelers, Jets are all better.

A pretty good team is going to miss out on the playoffs.

Jets will probably miss the playoffs at 10-6. Maybe even 11-5. That'll sting.

The problem the Chiefs have is the teams with the better safeties can afford to just crash the CBs down on the short routes.

If the Steelers win out they own the tiebreakers over the Jets. Same with the Chiefs.

I thought the Chiefs had head to head on the Steelers?

7 game winning streak
defense has given up 13 or less in 5 of those games
beat the Steelers by 10 (yes, with Landry Jones)
absolutely skull-fricked the Broncos

I don't understand why it's ridiculous to argue that they are better than the Broncos without Peyton Manning and the Bengals without Andy Dalton.

Yes, to clarify:

If the Chiefs, Steelers, and Jets win out, the Chiefs would be the 5 and Steelers would be the 6 seed.

Chiefs are better then the Broncos and the Steelers. Bengals are done without Dalton.

The fact the Chiefs were dismantled with injuries and have won 7 straight is impressive. They still continue to win even without most of their OL and Justin Houston + DAT. The Chiefs were without their best CB the first 3 weeks and losing Jamal Charles early hurt bad. 2 of the 5 games they have lost this year were given away (Broncos, Bears)

I wouldn't want to play the Chiefs in the playoffs with their defense
